TEXAS FORWARD PARTY ENDORSES JEREMY WALTHER FOR KERR COUNTY COMMISSIONER PRECINCT 2

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CENTER POINT, TX - October 2, 2026 – The Texas Forward Party is proud to announce its official candidate endorsement of local small business owner, rangeland ecologist, and community leader Jeremy Walther for Kerr County Commissioner, Precinct 2.

Running as an Independent, Walther brings a pragmatic, nonpartisan focus to local county governance, prioritizing community safety, transparent fiscal management, and long-term planning over partisan division.

A Kerr County native and Tivy High School graduate, Walther holds a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University. His career balances entrepreneurship and environmental science, having co-founded Pint & Plow Brewing Company and Trailhead Beer Garden in Kerrville, alongside working professionally as a staff biologist and rangeland ecologist across the Texas Hill Country. Walther's deep commitment to community infrastructure is demonstrated through his track record founding the Kerrville Urban Trail System, co-founding the Kerr County River Foundation and Big Seed, and serving on the governing boards of Peterson Health and the Doyle Community Center.

Walther's platform centers on practical county-level solutions designed to deliver measurable results for all Precinct 2 residents. His top priorities include implementing modern emergency preparedness tools, such as real-time stream gauges, weather-resistant outdoor sirens, and active watershed management to mitigate catastrophic flood risks following recent severe weather events. His platform further emphasizes fiscal responsibility through non-property tax revenue strategies, inter-agency coordination to protect local groundwater supplies, establishing a long-term infrastructure maintenance budget for 465 miles of county roads and 20 bridges, and developing the Guadalupe River corridor to combine conservation, emergency access, and trail connectivity.

"I'm grateful for the Texas Forward Party's endorsement," said Walther. "It reflects what I've heard across Precinct 2: voters want leadership focused on protecting what makes Kerr County home, not national politics."

"Jeremy Walther represents the exact model of local, problem-solving leadership the Forward Party champions," said Brandon David, State Chair of the Texas Forward Party. "His deep community roots, background in rangeland ecology, and refusal to let national partisan gridlock distract from county infrastructure make him an outstanding candidate for endorsement."

By running as an Independent, Walther ensures direct accountability to the entire Kerr County community rather than primary election power brokers or national party platforms. His candidacy offers Kerr County residents an opportunity to install evidence-based leadership focused on safeguarding natural resources and maintaining critical public infrastructure.
